Present
God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. – Psalms 46:1
Are you in trouble? Do you need help?
God assures us that He is our very present (/ˈprez.ənt/) help in trouble.
I recall going through some challenges and when I turned to the word, God showed me in Psalms 46:1 that He is my very present (current) help. What an assurance that is!
Much more (our God is a God of much more!), besides being present, God showed me that the word “present” can be read “pre-sent”. That His help is pre-sent, for whatever challenges I am going through, His help was already sent ahead of time to help me.
On a separate occasion, I was reading a story / testimony and God showed me that He is a God who will “present” (/prɪˈzent/) His help. “Present” as in make a presentation, make manifest His help. The dictionary defines it as “give, provide or make something known”.
Then God brought to my remembrance the earlier revelations I had about His help and this seems to complete the past, present and future aspect of His help. The story is a timely reminder of God’s faithfulness and present help. God showed me how His “present” (ie current) help is also “pre-sent” (provided ahead of time). And through the story I had a revelation that He will “present” (ie make a presentation, make manifest) His help. God is the same yesterday, today and forevermore (Hebrews 13:8) and that He is a God who delivered us, does deliver us and will still deliver us (2 Corinthians 1:10,11).
who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us, you also helping together in prayer for us, that thanks may be given by many persons on our behalf for the gift granted to us through many.
– 2 Corinthians 1:10,11
If you need a little bit more encouragement, spend some time listening to Rick McFarland teach about God’s deliverance, past, present and future (right now deliverance) in this Charis Daily Live Bible Study.
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
– Corinthians 15:57
